About The Position

Intertek is seeking an Entry-Level Field Technician to join their Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in Houston, TX. This role offers a career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry. Intertek-PSI provides construction assurance, testing, and inspection services, including construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing. The Field Technician will perform various testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under general supervision and follow detailed procedures.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication (hearing) and to make discriminations in sound
Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights

6 months of construction related testing and inspection experience
ACI Certification
NECEPT Certification
TXDOT Certification
BS Civil Engineering

Responsibilities

Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (e.g., Soil, concrete, or other).
Provide assessment of data through reporting.
Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
Use specific methods and perform tasks to make detailed observations of site activities.
Give limited interpretation of results.
Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
