About The Position

The Field Technician / Engineer provides technical and engineering support for the operation and maintenance of vessels and supporting systems. Working within the Platform / Marine systems team, the role delivers Engineering and Waterfront support, including responses to production teams and preparation of technical instructions. The position also involves maintenance and defect investigations and analysis, and developing TM200s for Urgent Defect Rectification.

Requirements

• Australian citizenship.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Commonwealth Defence Security Clearance.
• An accredited (under the Washington Accord) bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Background in Electrical, Mechanical or Naval Architecture engineering, or a trade qualification in an engineering environment.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative, team-oriented attributes.

• Previous experience in a similar role involving the design, operation or maintenance of complex or large vessels.

Responsibilities

• Provide Engineering and Waterfront support to the Platform / Marine systems team.
• Provide and review technical responses to production teams for Problem Identification Reports.
• Undertake analysis, design, development and preparation of Technical Instructions.
• Conduct maintenance and defect investigations and analysis.
• Develop TM200s for Urgent Defect Rectification.
• Analyse requests for variances and assess whether proposed changes have merit.
