About The Position

The Field Tech B (identified in the key business objectives as a Maintenance Specialist) performs maintenance services on USA Compression’s fleet of natural gas compression equipment. The role is responsible for maintaining a safe and professional work environment and may involve project work for the company and its customers.

Requirements

• Technical or trade school certification, or three additional years of work experience in a related field.
• At least three years of natural gas compression experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills when communicating with customers and employees at the field level.
• Ability to drive a commercial-size truck and a valid driver’s license with a motor vehicle record acceptable to USA Compression.
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
• High degree of mechanical ability.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals.
• Working knowledge of Excel, Word, the Internet, and inventory tracking software.
• Ability to understand written and verbal communications from the company and supervisor, including training, procedures, and instructions.
• Ability to legally work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks as outlined in the company’s Maintenance Manual.
• Travel approximately 25% of the time worked.
• Follow and observe all safety and environmental policies.
• Perform project work for the company and its customers as needed.
• Ensure parts and other resources are in place before scheduled project dates.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail.
• Accurately enter data into FSA immediately following tasks.
• Promptly return unused parts and cores.
• Maintain the company vehicle according to company guidelines.
• Assist in repairing unplanned major failures.
• Assist with after-hours call-outs as needed.
• Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
