The Field Survey Technician II collects field surveying data and operates specific survey instruments for the field crew. Compensation is $25.00–$38.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications. The stated range is a good-faith estimate, and the actual range may vary based on the selected candidate’s experience.

Immigration sponsorship or support, including H-1B and F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT, is unavailable for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for TN visa classification.

Requirements

• Must successfully complete and pass JMT’s Motor Vehicle screening.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Skills in mathematics and coordinate geometry.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate surveying equipment, including electronic total stations, data collectors, and GPS equipment, to measure distances, elevations, and angles.
• Perform boundary, topography, ATLA, right-of-way, and construction surveys.
• Operate and maintain survey equipment, including electronic data collectors, levels, electronic total stations, GPS equipment, and survey vehicles.
• Record accurate and clear field notes.
• Document assignments.
• Collect data using survey equipment.
• Perform calculations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
