About The Position

Davis, Bowen & Friedel is hiring an in-person Survey Field Technician to assist a survey crew with fieldwork across a variety of projects. The role supports the planning and design process by helping record measurements across different terrain and properties. The resulting measurements are used by architects and engineers to design buildings and develop sites safely and accurately. The technician works outdoors on job sites daily and must be physically able to work in all terrain and weather conditions. As part of a team, the technician assists with boundary, ALTA, topographic, right-of-way acquisition, and construction surveys using surveying equipment and technology. Previous surveying experience is required, with some on-the-job training provided. The position is in person; remote and hybrid work are not available.

Requirements

Previous surveying experience is required.
Physically able to work outdoors daily in all terrain and weather conditions on job sites.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the party chief and crew with boundary, topographic, and construction surveys.
Set up and operate equipment.
Carry out instructions and tasks assigned by a licensed surveyor.
Lay out stakes for map-making.
