About The Position

A well-established, multidisciplinary civil engineering and surveying firm is seeking a Field Survey Manager in San Diego, California. The manager will lead the survey department, maintain client relationships, manage project financials, and ensure high-quality field and office survey work. The role oversees boundary and ALTA surveys, legal descriptions, subdivision maps and plats, construction staking, and survey control.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of land surveying experience and an AS or BS in Land Surveying, or 10 years of equivalent experience.
• California PLS license, or ability to obtain reciprocity within 1 year.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Trimble Access, Vantage, Autodesk products, Word, and Excel.

Nice To Haves

• LSIT preferred.
• Demonstrated long-term tenure with prior employers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the survey department, including crew quality control.
• Build and maintain client relationships.
• Prepare proposals and contracts.
• Manage project financials.
• Oversee boundary and ALTA surveys, legal descriptions, and subdivision maps and plats.
• Direct construction staking and survey control.
• Ensure field and office survey work is high quality.
