About The Position

This position is a Senior Project Surveyor or division manager and exists to act in responsible charge, managing clients and staff in the oversight and performance of land surveying and construction staking projects. Location Riverside, CA.

Requirements

  • Candidate will have a minimum of eight (8) years of land survey experience, plus an A.S. or bachelors in land surveying or equivalent work experience of ten (10) years and an California Land Surveyor Registration (PLS) or demonstrate the ability to obtain reciprocity within 1 year of accepting the position.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing new and maintaining existing client relationships with owners, developers, agencies, contractors, subcontractors and other departments within the company.
  • Ability to develop business and marketing opportunities for the Survey Division. Implement business strategies accross the survey division.
  • The candidate must be able to effectively manage a survey division and demonstrate the ability to lead and oversee its operations.
  • Prepare and oversee proposals, contracts and the financial health for projects.
  • Review and prepare monthly billing reports and manage job budgets.
  • Demonstrates knowledge, understanding and implementation of federal, state and local jurisdictional laws, policies and procedures as they relate to the land surveying practice.
  • Responsible for the preparation and review of boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, legal descriptions, subdivision maps/plats, land splits and other survey maps or plats.
  • Demonstrates a high level of understanding of survey control, survey procedures, construction staking and jobsite safety for survey field staff.
  • Demonstrates a technical expertise at the application of coordinate geometry, CAD and survey calculations together with the gathering and review data for the preparation of topographical maps and design surveys for new and existing construction.
  • Manage and mentor staff research, preparing calculations for the performance of boundary surveys, construction staking, and other surveys. Manage staff performing land surveys to ascertain the location of property boundary, locations of natural features and the built environment on the earth’s surface using a variety of procedures, survey technology for use in boundary, topographic mapping, engineering design surveys and construction layout.
  • Ensuring that field survey crew daily work diaries are completed; quality control procedures for construction layout and calculations are established and followed; cut sheets are prepared; and weekly timesheets are completed.
  • Perform employee evaluations and interview/evaluate potential candidates for open positions.
