About The Position

The Field Supervisor oversees construction crews performing flatwork and roadway grading. The role communicates instructions and expectations, and organizes, plans, schedules, and delegates work, labor, and equipment. The supervisor manages assigned project scopes, crews, subcontractors, and materials delivery while helping control costs and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental requirements. The position requires construction experience, physical activity, outdoor work, and willingness and ability to travel to remote or distant locations.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED and a minimum of five years of construction experience.
Ability to prioritize and plan work activities and solve problems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with crews and customers.
Ability to perform manual labor and move at least 50 pounds.
Willingness and ability to travel to remote or distant locations.
Ability to move up to 100 pounds repetitively.
Frequent bending, standing, lifting, climbing, and ongoing physical activity.
Regular exposure to outdoor elements.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree or some college education with construction experience.
Previous supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

Supervise assigned scopes of work on construction projects, including crews, subcontractors, and materials delivery.
Assist with organizing, planning, scheduling, cost control, and delegation of work, labor, and equipment.
Communicate needs for manpower, material quantities, and equipment.
Review, understand, and adhere to all union contracts.
Supervise assigned craft workers.
Complete craft time cards accurately to reflect hours worked.
Coordinate cleanup after project completion.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
Maintain an insurable driving record.
Perform other duties as assigned.
