Field Steamfitter Pre-Apprentice
About The Position
This is an entry-level union position that provides an excellent pathway to a 5-year apprenticeship, where you will be trained to become a steamfitter journeyman. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced steamfitter journeymen to gain hands-on steamfitting knowledge. Steamfitters install, repair, and maintain pipe systems that carry water, steam, compressed air, liquids, and gases required for processing, manufacturing, heating, and cooling. You will show your attention to detail while installing hangers, material handling, and maintaining jobsite organization.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
- Clean driving record to operate company vehicles.
- Pass an appropriate aptitude test and drug screen.
- Self-motivated.
- Strong mechanical background.
- Positive working and learning attitude.
- Able to work effectively in both fast-paced construction environments, both indoors and outdoors.
- Dependability.
- Working well as a member of the construction team.

- Welding skills.
- Brazing skills.
