The Steamfitter role requires an individual who is well-organized, possesses good communication skills, and maintains exceptional work ethics. The position involves developing rapport with customers and discussing job requirements. The Steamfitter will work professionally alongside all applicable personnel. This role demands proficiency and knowledge in maintaining and installing mechanical systems, including but not limited to: steam, hot water heat, chilled water, condenser water, refrigeration, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Responsibilities may extend to working on large centrifugal chillers, rooftop air conditioners, walk-in coolers, and environmental boxes. The Steamfitter will maintain mechanical systems in all University buildings under the jurisdiction of senior management. This includes performing renovation work, new installations, and responding immediately to emergency situations. The role may require working in adverse conditions such as confined spaces, extreme heights, damp and humid areas, and hot or cold conditions.
