About The Position

ACI, a trusted leader in commercial HVAC services, is expanding its Chiller Service Group and seeking a skilled HVAC Journeyman / Chiller Technician to join their team. This role involves working with advanced water- and air-cooled chiller systems, including helical screws and centrifugal equipment, and mentoring other mechanics. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex mechanical challenges, collaborating with a high-performing team, and contributing to a growing service group.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Journeyman HVAC Technician specializing in chiller service.
• Local 602 membership preferred; must be able to work within union guidelines.
• Deep experience servicing water- and air-cooled chillers, helical screws, and centrifugal equipment.
• Strong knowledge of chilled water applications, electrical and pneumatic systems, and VFDs.
• Skilled in Preventative Maintenance, Diagnostics, Service, Troubleshooting, Repair, and Overhauls.
• Able to provide technical guidance to mechanics and collaborate with peers.
• Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive, solutions-first mindset.
• Motivated to support and help grow an expanding chiller service group.
• Desire to take ownership of complex technical challenges and deliver exceptional results.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance on water- and air-cooled chillers to ensure optimal efficiency, reduce downtime, and extend equipment life.
• Identify and resolve system issues across chillers, drives, and related equipment, including troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, and variable frequency drive (VFD) systems.
• Execute major overhauls on centrifugal and screw chillers, and perform component replacements, retrofits, and upgrades.
• Provide direction and mentorship to junior mechanics, sharing knowledge to elevate the team's capabilities.
• Partner with leadership to strengthen service offerings and contribute technical expertise to expand client relationships.
