About The Position

This is an entry-level position that provides an excellent pathway to a 5-year apprenticeship, where you will be trained to become a Plumbing Journeyman. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced journeymen to gain hands-on plumbing knowledge. You will show your attention to detail while installing hangers, material handling, and maintaining jobsite organization. The apprenticeship is generally four to five years. Ahern is a family-owned business with over 145 years of experience as a mechanical and fire protection contractor, known for quality, innovation, job stability, and support.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Clean driving record to operate company vehicles.
• Pass an appropriate aptitude test and drug screen.
• Self-starters.
• Strong mechanical background.
• Good working and learning attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment both indoors and outdoors.
• Dependability.
• Ability to work well as a member of the construction team.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with plumbing components is preferred, but not required.
