About The Position

The Field Services Manager is responsible for leading the PT NAM Canada Field Services organization for Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS) technologies, including circuit breakers and disconnectors. This role is accountable for implementing the PT Field Services Operations strategy, driving operational excellence, and ensuring safe, high-quality execution of field activities. The successful candidate will foster a culture of safety, customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and technical excellence while delivering projects on time and within budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience leading field operations, projects, or related technical organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale, mission-critical field service projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS), including circuit breakers and disconnectors.
  • Proven commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) excellence within construction and field service environments.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities with limited direction.
  • Experience collaborating effectively with engineering, product management, project management, and cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable working within a global and multicultural organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the Canada AIS Field Services organization, including workforce planning, labor utilization, overtime management, and resource forecasting.
  • Effectively manage field service personnel by establishing clear priorities, optimizing technician scheduling, and ensuring adequate resources to meet business demands.
  • Develop, manage, and continuously improve technician training, certification, and competency development programs.
  • Ensure field teams have the appropriate tools and equipment required to perform their work safely and efficiently by partnering with the Tooling Manager on capital investment (CAPEX), calibration programs, maintenance, and lifecycle management of the Canadian tooling fleet.
  • Drive operational excellence by continuously improving field execution processes, productivity, and deployment strategies across all service projects.
  • Oversee mechanical and electrical installation, commissioning, and field execution activities while ensuring compliance with project scope, quality standards, and customer expectations.
  • Make timely, informed decisions that contribute to the success of the Field Services organization and support overall business objectives.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members by promoting career growth, technical competency, and leadership development.
  • Anticipate operational challenges, proactively identify risks, and implement effective solutions before issues impact project execution.
  • Foster a high-performance culture by promoting employee engagement, technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
