About The Position

Atlas Pressure Control provides oilfield pressure-control equipment and field services, specializing in wellhead and related solutions for drilling and production operations. The company supports drilling and production operations with field expertise and equipment designed to help customers work safely, efficiently, and reliably. As a Field Service Training Specialist, you will play a hands-on role in developing the competency, technical capability, and independence of field service technicians. This role is focused on helping technicians build confidence in the field through direct exposure, practical instruction, coaching, and consistent reinforcement of quality and safety expectations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or a minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• In-depth knowledge of wellhead, support and rental equipment.
• Experience with wellhead service and pressure-control equipment.
• Experience mentoring technicians.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, fractions, percentages, area, circumference, and volumes.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical fundamentals, with the ability to provide guidance and mentoring for technicians.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Must hold a current H2S Clear completion certificate.
• Must hold a current Safeland completion certificate.
• Must hold a forklift certification.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with Field Service Manager(s) to ensure continuity and alignment of goals and objectives.
• Develop the competency, technical capability, and independence of Atlas Pressure Control field service technicians through hands-on training and direct field exposure.
• Attend field service jobs alongside technicians who are being trained or developed.
• Provide hands-on instruction regarding the proper installation, operation, testing, servicing, and removal of Atlas Pressure Control equipment.
• Reinforce approved Atlas procedures, work instructions, safety requirements, quality expectations, and field service standards.
• Observe technicians performing actual job tasks and provide coaching when improvement is required.
• Allow technicians to physically perform tasks whenever practical rather than simply demonstrating the work for them.
• Identify gaps in technical knowledge, procedural understanding, job preparation, or field execution.
• Document training and competency progress as required.
• Conduct competency assessments based upon direct observation and demonstrated performance.
• Sign off technicians only after they have demonstrated that they can safely and correctly perform the applicable task without direct assistance or supervision.
• Communicate unresolved competency concerns to Field Service Managers, the Field Service Quality Manager, and appropriate Atlas leadership.
• Attend planning meetings upon request.
• Prepare documentation packages as defined by Field Service Management standards and expectations.
• Maintain records and documentation as required by operations and field service leadership.
• Check, inspect, and assist with repairs and preparation of field service support tooling and equipment.
• Report and document non-conformance issues with equipment and tooling.
• Maintain a high degree of vigilance and professionalism while on duty.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and orderly staging of equipment.
• Work in conjunction with the Field Service Quality Manager to ensure quality standards and expectations are maintained.
• Communicate clearly in verbal and written formats.
• Use basic IT platforms in support of field service and documentation needs.
• Maintain accurate records of work hours and time entry.
• Handle sensitive information regarding pricing, quotes, and billing with integrity.
• Follow Atlas Pressure Control procedures in day-to-day work.
• Work with the HSSE Manager to ensure mentorship plans for short-term employees are followed.
• Support and participate in the company’s continuous improvement process.
• Observe and comply with company HSSE policies.
• Maintain company-supplied assigned assets such as vehicles, apartments, PPE, and tooling.
