About The Position

The Field Service Technician will be based out of Zeeco’s Houston office and will spend most of their time in the field, with moderate travel required. The position requires knowledge of Zeeco products, with a focus on installation, start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting, and inspection. When not in the field, the technician will report to the Houston facility to complete paperwork or prepare for upcoming projects.

Requirements

• Experience working for or with companies in oil and gas, petrochemicals, or related industries.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Electrical knowledge covering 12–24 VDC and 120–480 VAC.
• Knowledge of Burner Management Systems (BMS), Local Control Panels (LCP), Motor Operated Valves (MOV), and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).
• Controls troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of gas measurement and instrument controls.
• Experience with HART communication devices.
• General diagnostics and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and understand documentation and drawings.
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with personnel at different levels.

Nice To Haves

• College degree in engineering or a related field (preferred but not required).
• Experience with combustion equipment, including flares, burners, and thermal oxidizers.

Responsibilities

• Supervise or consult on field installation of Zeeco equipment.
• Perform field start-up, commissioning, operation, troubleshooting, and inspection of Zeeco equipment.
• Problem-solve in the field with little to no supervision after completing training.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with personnel ranging from plant managers to skilled labor.
• Read and understand documentation and drawings.
• Complete written or electronic reports and other required basic documentation.
• Complete safety requirements and qualifications required to visit sites.
• Perform other duties appropriate to skills and experience as assigned.
