About The Position

Abel Womack is seeking skilled and motivated Field Service Technicians to serve Lawrence, Massachusetts, and the surrounding area. The role involves independent field work with support from a team and includes a company-issued service vehicle and extensive technical training. Technicians install, maintain, and repair Raymond battery-powered lift trucks, warehouse storage systems, conveyors, carousels, and other automated material handling equipment. They work directly with customers to troubleshoot equipment challenges, submit electronic work orders using a company-provided tablet, and represent Abel Womack professionally while providing excellent customer service. Compensation is $23–$36 per hour, depending on relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other job-related qualifications.

Requirements

Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and/or electrical equipment, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and cost-effective maintenance.
Ability to read schematics, maps, blueprints, and manuals.
Ability to communicate regularly by phone and in person with team members, parts representatives, technical specialists, dispatch, lead service technicians, and customers.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional demeanor and build positive customer relationships by consistently delivering excellent customer service.
Must provide basic mechanic tools; specialty tools will be provided.
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly.

Nice To Haves

Experience with electrical fuel systems, sensor technology, hydraulics, PLCs, or charging systems.
Experience as a forklift technician or transferable experience as an automotive, diesel, conveyor, heavy equipment, or other electro-mechanical mechanic.

Responsibilities

Travel within an assigned territory to install, maintain, and repair Raymond battery-powered lift trucks and other material handling equipment, including warehouse storage systems, conveyors, and carousels.
Work directly with customers to troubleshoot and resolve equipment challenges.
Apply and develop mechanical and technical skills through continuous training.
Submit electronic work orders using a company-provided tablet.
Represent Abel Womack professionally and provide excellent customer service.
