The Field Service Technician is a mobile diesel mechanic who inspects, maintains, and repairs trucks, trailers, aerial lifts, forklifts, pickups, and tree-service equipment used by vegetation-management crews. The technician travels between job sites and yards across the Atlanta, Georgia area, southern Georgia, and Tennessee, bringing repair services directly to equipment. The role includes scheduled preventive maintenance and rapid response to breakdowns, working outdoors in varied weather and sometimes staying overnight when travel takes the technician far from home. The position reports directly to the Fleet Services Manager. It requires diagnosing and repairing equipment under pressure, prioritizing work according to urgency, communicating with crews and foremen, and keeping accurate records in fleet-maintenance software. The technician must follow established safety procedures, comply with DOT inspection requirements, and respond to after-hours, weekend, holiday, and storm-related needs. Standard shifts are 8 or 10 hours, with overtime and emergency call-outs as needed.
