About The Position

The Field Service Technician is a mobile diesel mechanic responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing the trucks, trailers, aerial lifts, forklifts, pickups, and tree-service equipment used by vegetation-management crews. The technician travels between job sites and yards across the Georgia and Tennessee area, brings repair capability to the equipment, performs scheduled preventive maintenance, and responds to equipment breakdowns. Work includes equipment from Altec, Terex, Freightliner, Cummins, and Allison, and is performed outdoors in varied weather and settings. The position reports directly to the Fleet Services Manager. The role involves frequent driving between sites, hands-on work in non-climate-controlled environments, and occasional overnight travel. Workdays are a standard 8- or 10-hour day, with overtime, emergency call-outs, weekend and holiday work, and storm response as needed. Per diem or company-provided hotel accommodations are available when travel takes the technician far from their home base. The Halter Group provides right-of-way clearing services for utility, gas, pipeline, and D.O.T. customers. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The company is an Equal Opportunity Employer and offers reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities during the application and hiring process.
