About The Position

Technical Safety Services (TSS) is hiring a Field Service Technician to provide on-site services that help laboratories, pharmacies, and cleanrooms operate safely and efficiently. The technician travels throughout an assigned territory, works independently from a company-provided service vehicle, and builds relationships with customers at their facilities. The role offers hands-on training, ongoing mentorship, and opportunities for career advancement. TSS supports life sciences, healthcare, and research organizations by testing, certifying, calibrating, and repairing cleanrooms, fume hoods, biological safety cabinets, and other controlled-environment equipment. Technicians help ensure that customer facilities remain safe, accurate, and compliant.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; equivalent combinations of education, training, or hands-on experience are welcome.
Background in customer service and some mechanical or electrical experience.
Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technical work.
Good communication and basic math skills.
Comfort using Microsoft Office.
Ability to work independently, manage time, and travel, including some overnights.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment weighing 50–100 pounds and to stand and walk for most of the day.

Responsibilities

Travel daily to customer sites in an assigned territory, driving approximately 30–300 miles per day.
Perform testing, certification, calibration, and repairs in different laboratory environments while maintaining a strong focus on quality.
Work directly with clients to understand their needs, communicate clearly, and ensure work is completed correctly.
Build customer relationships and serve as the main on-site point of contact.
Complete reports and required paperwork on time.
