About The Position

The Field Service Technician III - Power Systems is responsible for conducting all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations. This role requires attending and successfully completing required technician training, maintaining a high awareness of applicable technical changes in the industry, and possessing a necessary set of tools for job performance. The technician will perform designated repairs on customer or company-owned equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair. They will work in a neat and orderly fashion, constantly seeking improvements in work methods, the work area, and safety standards. Additionally, the role involves maintaining the field service truck, inspecting components to maximize reuse for cost control, and completing required documentation using appropriate software. The technician must monitor job expenses against repair estimates and inform their supervisor of any cost overruns. A positive approach, supportive conduct, and contribution to team efforts are essential. This position also involves performing other duties as assigned and demonstrating essential job competencies in safety, job-specific skills, communication, initiative, results orientation, confidence, drive, adaptability, credibility, and personal development.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of experience
  • Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products and relevant Dealer software programs.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental and contamination control policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Wears proper personal protective equipment.
  • Attends and successfully completes required technician training classes.
  • Maintains high awareness of applicable technical changes in the industry.
  • Maintains necessary set of tools required for job performance to diagnose, disassemble and assemble components to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Perform designated repairs on customer or company owned equipment including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance and repair with lower level troubleshooting.
  • Works in a neat and orderly fashion, constantly looking for ways of improving the methods of work, work area, and safety standards.
  • Maintains field service truck, as applicable, in proper condition by following proper contamination control guidelines, including housekeeping, and performing other general maintenance duties
  • Inspects components to insure maximum parts are being reused to control repair costs.
  • Completes required documentation utilizing appropriate software to document repairs performed on equipment, and accounting for repair times.
  • Monitors job expenses versus repair estimates and ensures that the supervisor is aware of any cost over run, prior to the job being completed.
  • Approaches work in a positive manner, maintains conduct that is supportive of the work Team and sets the standard for others to follow.
  • Contributes to Team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
