About The Position

Metrohm USA is seeking a Field Service Specialist with expertise in ion chromatography (IC) to support customers across a territory that includes New York City and Boston, ideally based in the Long Island, NY area. As a Field Service Specialist, you will provide technical support and on-site service to ensure customers' instruments operate at peak performance. This role involves installations, repairs, calibrations, certifications, preventive maintenance, and refresher training for benchtop IC systems. You will also support customers remotely, partner with Process Analytics teams, manage a dynamic schedule across a multi-state territory, and build strong customer relationships through expert service and communication. Collaboration with Sales, Customer Support, and Product teams is key to delivering a seamless customer experience.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline.
  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience repairing ion chromatography or related laboratory instrumentation.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Strong time management and the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the territory and occasionally outside the region.
  • Must pass pre-employment background check, education and employment verification, and a 10-panel drug screening (including marijuana).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience traveling for field service work.
  • Familiarity with process-based IC applications.
