Field Service Representative
About The Position
Nalco Water, an Ecolab company, is seeking a Field Technician to join their team in Marshall, Michigan. This role involves monitoring and maintaining air and water quality systems at an automotive manufacturing site. The Field Technician will provide customers with problem-solving support, aiming for high customer satisfaction. The position requires operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting facility systems and processes, performing lab sample testing and analysis, conducting daily process application quality analysis, providing routine and special application service support, executing chemistry tests, logging and reporting data, maintaining product inventories, providing technical support, and troubleshooting/maintaining systems. Specific tasks include using a fluke meter and operating a test stand to verify leaks.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite

- Experience working independently in an industrial setting
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude
- Previous experience in Industrial Wastewater Treatment or Maintenance
- Mechanical problem-solving experience (e.g. plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and/or mechanical experience)
- Strong customer service skills; proven ability to interface positively and professionally with the customer
- Analyze readings and put data in a spreadsheet in a logical manner
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Previous experience explaining results of data gatherings
Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and trouble-shoot the facility and its processes in accordance with established procedures
- Perform testing on lab samples, analyze and record results and data in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
- Perform daily process application quality analysis using small intricate parts
- Provide routine and special application service support to customers
- Execute required chemistry tests
- Log and report data
- Maintain product inventories
- Provide technical support to customers
- Troubleshoot and maintain systems as needed
- Use a fluke meter to check sensitivity
- Operate a test stand verifying air and fluid leaks
