About The Position

Schneider Electric is seeking Field Service Representatives to join their U.S. Services business, focusing on servicing equipment that supports power distribution and critical power infrastructure. In this role, you will collaborate with customers, team members, and third-party partners to perform assembly, startup, diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance on various types of equipment. This is a site-based position with occasional nonstandard hours, offering a 40-hour guarantee with overtime potential. Schneider Electric provides comprehensive training, service vehicles, tools, uniforms, mobile devices, and laptops.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree, trade/vocational certification, Military training, or similar experience in electrical-related disciplines.
  • Ability to read blueprints/schematics.
  • Thorough understanding of principles of AC and DC power, various AC and DC supply circuit components.
  • 2+ years of field service repair and customer service experience with UPS systems, power distribution and switchgear, seamless automatic transfer switches (ATS), power distribution units, electrical, electro-mechanical or electronics related equipment.
  • 2+ years in Field Services or equivalent industry experience.
  • English proficiency required for communication with customers and team members.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills and systems including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) and ability to navigate company digital tools.
  • Good safety practices and adherence to company safety procedures/policies (lock out tag out, comply with all safety programs, complete safety trainings).
  • Ability to identify hazards and report safety matters, incidents, and near misses.
  • Safe driving and vehicle operations skills.
  • Skilled at utilizing test and diagnostic equipment.
  • Experience reading and interpreting schematics, drawings, and operation manuals.
  • Ability to write service reports, correspondence, and procedures, effectively present information, and respond to customer questions.
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks, including bending, stooping, and lifting/carrying items up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various environmental extremes (heat, cold, rain, dust).
  • Ability to remain in a standing position for extended periods and work in small, confined spaces.

Nice To Haves

  • NFPA-70E or OSHA experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-site, startup, repair, preventive maintenance, and field modification of equipment.
  • Engage in problem-solving with customers, electricians, sales partners, technical support, and District Service teams.
  • Complete field service reports, expense reports, preventive maintenance, and startup data sheets.
  • Collaborate with managers and Regional Service Directors to resolve complex escalated issues.
  • Participate in continuous learning and training on various products, both in the field and in a classroom setting.
  • Travel throughout the region for local customer support or nationwide travel, including overnight stays.
  • Assist senior technicians and support Project Management on larger system start-ups.
  • Work with larger teams of Field Service Representatives and collaborate with Project Managers on higher complexity projects.
  • Act on behalf of the District Service Manager to resolve operational issues as required.
