About The Position

Clean Harbors is seeking a Field Service Project Manager in Salt Lake City, Utah, to join its HAZMAT Emergency Response team. The role manages large-scale projects at customer locations and works directly with team members, supervisors, and the Branch Manager. The position involves managing project work related to emergency spill cleanup, hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation such as tank and pit cleaning, equipment decontamination, and hazardous-material handling.

New hires must attend one week of out-of-state training at the company’s Academy. The training is paid, and expenses are covered by the company. Clean Harbors describes itself as a provider of environmental, energy, and industrial services across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of environmental field service operations experience or related experience.
• Strong environmental remediation background and experience.
• Strong understanding of equipment operations.
• Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations.
• Cost estimating and computer experience.
• In-depth knowledge of remedial technologies.
• Previous emergency response experience.

Nice To Haves

• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Emergency response supervisor training and/or Marine Spill Response training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote health and safety by following policies and processes and acting safely at all times.
• Manage and oversee small to large technically complex projects involving waste-site cleanup and construction, building and equipment decontamination, and demolition.
• Prepare proposals, including cost estimates, work scopes, and schedules.
• Develop relationships with key customers, represent the business, and understand customer issues.
• Provide timely, concise, and relevant information to superiors and subordinates.
• Provide technical support for proposal preparation, project cost estimates, and subcontractor selection and procurement.
• Enforce health and safety policies and procedures; work with the Director of Health and Safety and VP of Site Services to resolve issues appropriately and promptly.
• Perform other duties and tasks assigned by management as required by business needs.
