About The Position

We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in Cleveland, OH. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Completing repair activities on generators or components Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools Maintain detailed records of service Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products Maintain own tools

Requirements

  • Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
  • High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
  • Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.
  • Basic Diesel Engine experience.
  • Proficient troubleshooting and repairs of generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components.
  • Able to perform repairs on ATS systems and able to perform commissioning on a new ATS installation.
  • Basic level field service work experience
  • Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with of power generation products
  • High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience
  • Customer service experience
  • A current valid license is required for this role
  • This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
  • This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
  • 3 years driving experience
  • This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
  • Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age

  • Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
  • Current relevant electrical certification
  • Being a good team member and able to work well with different personality types.
  • Able to manage difficult stressful situations with customers, as emergency service often involves high emotional situations.
  • Able to manage constructive feedback and receive coaching with a positive attitude.
  • Understanding the demands of emergency services means some unexpected overtime on a fairly regular basis, due to outage events, and being able to adjust to on-call rotation coverages.
