About The Position

We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician to join our team specializing in Power Generation in Houston, TX. In this role, you will make an impact by completing preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on generators or components at the customer site with minimal direction. You will engage with customers in a courteous and professional manner, applying the use of specialized tools and following documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing required parts and tools. You will also complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, and warranty claims via handwritten forms or business system input screens, and complete training in line with skill and business requirements. Adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation is expected, and any issues/incidents should be reported to your supervisor.

Requirements

  • A current valid license is required for this role
  • This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
  • This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
  • 3 years driving experience
  • This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
  • Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
  • Minimal level of workshop related experience required.
  • Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products
  • High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience

Nice To Haves

  • Apprentice Trained Power Generation/ Electrical Technician
  • Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
  • Current relevant electrical certification
  • Locally valid driving permit

Responsibilities

  • Completing preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on generators or components at the customer site with minimal direction.
  • Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Completing training in line with skill and business requirements.
  • Adhere to all our relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.
  • Ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs
  • Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor
  • Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field
  • Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation
