ProAutomated is building its 2026 hiring pipeline for curious, adaptable problem-solvers who enjoy travel, hands-on work, and teamwork. The role includes four weeks of paid training designed to prepare technically skilled individuals for field work. Training success requires a basic foundation in electrical systems, programming, and communication networking. Field Service Engineers travel to customer sites across North America and support automation projects in partnership with system integrators and manufacturers. The company does not install systems; it helps ensure they work correctly when needed. There is no office to report to, and employees are away from home while working. Typical travel rotations are 5 days on/2 off, 10 days on/4 off, or 14 days on/7 off. The starting salary is $60,000–$75,000, depending on location, education, and experience. Additional compensation may include per diem for meals, mileage reimbursement, utilization bonuses, and weekend bonuses. The company offers paid training, annual merit raises, and a 5% salary increase after six months. Benefits include health, dental, and life insurance, matching 401(k), short- and long-term disability options, paid vacation, and flexible time off after 18 months.
