ProAutomated is building its hiring pipeline for early 2026 for curious, adaptable problem-solvers who enjoy travel and hands-on work. The role includes four weeks of paid training intended to prepare technically skilled individuals for field assignments. A basic foundation in electrical systems, programming, and communication networking is needed to succeed in training. Field Service Engineers work directly with customers across North America and support automation projects in data centers, warehouses, and manufacturing environments. The company partners with system integrators and manufacturers to test and validate systems rather than install them. Employees work on customer sites and travel on rotating schedules, such as 5 days on/2 days off, 10 days on/4 days off, or 14 days on/7 days off. There is no office to report to, and employees are away from home while working. A personal vehicle is required within 45 days of employment for local projects, and employees must live within 50 miles of a major airport; relocation assistance is available. The starting salary is $60,000–$75,000, depending on location, education, and experience. Additional compensation includes per diem for meals, mileage reimbursement, utilization bonuses, and weekend bonuses. The company offers paid training, annual merit raises, and a 5% salary increase after six months. Benefits include health, dental, and life insurance, a matching 401(k), short- and long-term disability options, paid vacation, and flexible time off after 18 months. The role involves physical work at large facilities and job sites, including walking long distances, climbing ladders or stairs or working at heights, moving loads up to 50 pounds, standing, kneeling, or reaching for extended periods, and working in varied environments such as construction sites and hot or cold outdoor conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
