About The Position

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for servicing and maintaining ion beam-based manufacturing equipment. The role includes installing new systems, upgrading existing systems, diagnosing problems, repairing equipment, performing preventative maintenance and warranty support, and training customers in machine use and maintenance. The position involves 30–50% travel. Flexible work-from-home options are available.

Requirements

An associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, or Mechatronics; a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or Materials Science; or a relevant technical diploma, certification, or military technical training.
Experience maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment.
Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
Ability to interface with customers respectfully and politely.
Good problem-solving skills.
Willingness to travel 30–50%.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in semiconductor or optics fabricators with ion beam- or plasma-based process manufacturing equipment such as IBE, RIE, IBD, PVD, or CVD.
Familiarity with ion beam sources, plasma sources, and neutralizers.
Familiarity with power supplies, RF and microwave generators.
Familiarity with electrical controls and PLCs.
Familiarity with PCs, RAID systems, SQL databases, and SECS/GEM interfaces.
Familiarity with vacuum pumps, valves, and gauges.
Familiarity with gas delivery systems and RGAs.
Familiarity with linear and rotary actuators, motor controllers, and hydraulics.
Familiarity with VCE, wafer handling robots, and code readers.
