Field Service Engineer - YieldStar (YS)

ASML•Austin, TX
•Onsite

About The Position

As a Field Service Engineer for ASML’s YieldStar metrology system, you will install, qualify, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment at a customer site. You will work directly with customer engineers, line managers, and ASML technical teams to keep tools available, stable, and performing to specification. You will independently execute planned and unplanned maintenance, diagnose issues, drive resolution, and escalate when needed. The position is initially based in Austin, Texas, supporting a customer development line, and is expected to transition toward the customer’s future high-volume manufacturing location as its install base grows. You will be one of two initial equipment engineers at the site and a technical lead for YieldStar equipment support. The role spans installation, qualification, wafer introduction, pilot-line performance, and sustaining. You will collaborate with local and global teams, represent customer needs to ASML headquarters support teams, and share information and best-known methods with the regional YieldStar engineering network. The pilot-line Applications team is around 10 people, with potential to expand as the install base and HVM site grow. Initially, you may travel to other office or fab locations to train on YieldStar installation and maintenance, build capability, and learn customer-specific tool configurations. The position includes international and domestic travel for training and cross-site support. Training includes an initial two-week period and may involve additional training lasting two to seven weeks during the first year. Travel is expected to be about 25% in the first year and approximately 10% thereafter, subject to business needs. The role follows a compressed work week of 12-hour shifts, alternating three or four days per week; the schedule may change. More than half of the work time is expected to be in a cleanroom working with electromechanical equipment, wearing a cleanroom suit and required PPE. The position requires compliance with safety procedures, including pre-work assessments and appropriate PPE. The current base annual hourly range is not provided. Compensation is determined based on role, level, location, market data, and candidate-specific factors. Candidates must be legally authorized to access controlled technology under U.S. export regulations before beginning work.
