About The Position

This role is for a Field Service Engineer based in Tinley Park, IL, who will be part of a customer support engineering team. The engineer will analyze and solve engineering problems related to the installation, start-up, and operation of complex distributed control systems, sub-systems, and specific control equipment at customer locations. The position requires extensive travel up to 75%, including overnights and some weekends, with a hybrid work option available when not traveling. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a similar technical educational curriculum, or relevant experience in lieu of education.
2+ years of related experience engaging with customers for the installation of control systems, loading application software, and installing/maintaining network equipment.
Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

Experience programming with PLC and/or DCS software.
SCADA and datalink experience.
Experience with Emerson Ovation software.

Responsibilities

Perform on-site instruction of customer personnel.
Write and modify maintenance procedures.
Conduct quality control tests and product evaluations.
Direct customer personnel in the installation, modification, or repair of control systems, sub-systems, and equipment.
Provide direct engineering advisory assistance to customers and act as a liaison within the company on equipment-related issues.
Create complete and timely reports on all activities, emphasizing problem definition and services rendered.
