About The Position

East Coast Metrology (ECM) is seeking a Field Service Engineer to perform precision measurement work at customer sites across the U.S., with occasional international travel. The position involves travel 80% or more and offers hands-on engineering work using advanced metrology equipment and software to address customer measurement challenges.

The engineer works at customer sites, manufacturing facilities, shops, labs, and ECM’s in-house facility. The role suits someone who is mechanically inclined, technically curious, adaptable, independent, and comfortable with frequent travel and industrial environments. Requirements

• Experience with laser trackers, portable arms, 3D scanners, or CMMs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience with PolyWorks or PC-DMIS.
• Blueprint reading and dimensional inspection skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Comfort working in industrial and shop environments.
• Independent, adaptable, hands-on approach and readiness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Operate FARO and Leica laser trackers, portable arms, and 3D scanners.
• Perform precision inspections using blueprints and 3D CAD models.
• Capture, analyze, and report dimensional measurement data.
• Use PolyWorks and/or PC-DMIS.
• Work at customer sites, manufacturing facilities, shops, labs, and the in-house facility.
• Travel 80% or more, primarily throughout the U.S., with occasional international assignments.
