As a Field Service Engineer for Agilent, you will work at a variety of labs, so having an appetite for continuously learning about new instruments, software and consumables is key. The ability to help solve customer problems and a commitment to delivering the highest levels of customer service will build customer success. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be focused primarily on LC and LCMS products. Prior experience with Agilent LC and LCMS preferred. Your Role: You will be responsible for supporting our customers with on-site installation, implementation, maintenance, and repair of company and multi-vendor systems solutions. Our varied product lines include hardware, software, and networking products as well as operating systems. Installs and optimizes hardware/software/network products and configurations at customer sites. Diagnoses and resolves product performance problems. Performs maintenance and repairs. Ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations that may affect product performance. Proactively responds to potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers' business. Deliver fully integrated solutions, which may include peripherals, communications, operating systems and applications software. Train other field engineers and customers in the solutions. Territory Coverage : This position primarily serves the greater San Diego area with occasional travel to Orange County and greater Los Angeles. You must reside in San Diego County for this role. No relocation benefits are offered at this time. 25% of the Travel will include overnight and weekend travel as needed. This position has a remote office, with the expectation that you will visit customer sites daily and be able to travel Monday through Friday throughout the U.S. Having your own means of transportation for this role is required. Job Requirements Must consent to and meet Agilent-approved customer/vendor credentialing requirements to access customer sites. These may include proof of identification, certifications, and compliance with health and safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree within the science field – e.g., chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, or similar. is required, plus 4+ years of experience as a field service engineer or as an end user of LC/LCMS analytical instrumentation.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Verbal and written communication is clear, respectful, and timely
  • Must be available to travel up to 25% of the time and should enjoy travelling and visiting customers.
  • A valid driver's License is required.
  • Must have your own means of transportation if a company vehicle is not provided.
  • Candidates MUST live in the greater San Diego area.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with Agilent LC and LCMS preferred.
  • Candidates with experience with Agilent LC/LCMS instrumentation and software are highly preferred.

  • The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $46.13 - $72.08/hr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits.
