About The Position

Join the Baker Hughes Americas BRUSH Team to carry out installation, commissioning, repair, maintenance, and upgrading of large rotating electrical machines and their associated control equipment. As an Americas Field Service Electrical/Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for commissioning HV Generators, Motors, Synchronous condensers, Power management systems (PMS), Electrical protection systems, Excitation Controllers (AVRs), and Synchronising equipment. You will also conduct upgrades to AVRS, PMS systems, Synchronisers, Protection relays and other control elements, and carry out electrical testing on high and low voltage equipment and machine windings in the field. Additionally, you will deliver training on Brush Power Gen products to clients and field service colleagues, interpret technical drawings, specifications, and technical requirements, and attend technical meetings on site and at customers’ premises. You will also prepare method statements and risk assessments in relation to client sites where needed, and assist mechanical service engineer(s) on assignments, which will not necessarily involve electrical related activities.

Requirements

• An accredited Electrical or Controls qualification or relevant experience.
• Knowledge of networking systems. Such as, Modbus, Ethernet, 61850, Fibre would be advantageous
• Knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures of Health, Safety & Environment
• Undergone medical examinations to ascertain and certify physical fitness for offshore and overseas work.
• Ability to be self‑reliant, resourceful, and a problem solver with well‑developed commercial awareness.
• Capability to communicate effectively, being fluent in both spoken and written English.
• Ability to undertake extensive overseas and offshore assignments.
• Experience in dealing with external stakeholders on site and operating remotely on own initiative.
• Qualities of a good team player with the ability to work independently.
• A high level of knowledge in electrical power generation and distribution systems.

Responsibilities
