About The Position

Parsons is seeking a talented Field Electrical Engineer to join our team on the T5 Program, supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This role provides infrastructure engineering support to construction/installation crews, involving field identification, validation of designs against actual conditions, conducting surveys, interpreting technical documents, and supporting installation and testing. The position requires significant CONUS travel (40-50%) and will be performed remotely when not traveling. The T5 contract supports the FAA's Capital Investment Plan, NextGen Program, national security programs, and aviation safety across all nine FAA regions, plus key technical centers and U.S. territories. The contract is supported by an average staff of 500, with peaks over 650, in addition to subcontractors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 3+ years of relevant engineering experience in grounding and lightning protection design, electrical engineering, electrical construction, electrical inspection, field engineering, mission-critical facilities engineering, or infrastructure projects
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, specifications, equipment schedules, and technical documents
• Ability and willingness to conduct site surveys during nighttime hours or as required by project needs
• Ability to travel nationwide and work on active construction sites in varying field conditions
• Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards, such as the National Electrical Code NEC, NFPA standards, IEEE standards, and federal or project-specific requirements
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass required background checks
• Strong communication and coordination skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and clients
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

• Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT/FE) certification
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Experience supporting construction activities, field investigations, and resolution of field issues
• Experience interfacing directly with client and other stakeholders
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic electronic documentation tools
• OSHA 30‑hour safety training
• Prior experience on federal, transportation, aviation, or large infrastructure projects
• Experience with Bluebeam markup software
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in remote and field environments
• Experience in requirements development and specification writing

Responsibilities

• Field identification and planning of fixtures, equipment and system layouts
• Validating designs against actual field conditions and resolving discrepancies
• Conducting field surveys, inspections, and data collection to support design and construction
• Interpreting drawings, specifications, and technical documents for field personnel
• Supporting installation, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of systems, fixtures and equipment
• Coordinating with other disciplines (civil, structural, mechanical, architectural), other contractors, and subcontractors
• Preparing/redlining drawings, design calculations, quantities, and construction documentation
• Preparing site survey reports, field reports, maintaining project records, and documenting as‑built conditions
• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and local codes
• Adhering to Parsons safety, quality, and documentation procedures
• Performing other engineering duties as assigned
