FIELD REPRESENTATIVE (LOTTERY)
About The Position
Field Representatives promote Lottery ticket sales by managing a field sales route, making daily sales calls, and merchandising at retailer locations. They advise retailers on point-of-sale materials, provide game information and marketing techniques, help ensure compliance with Lottery policies and procedures, assess instant ticket and supply inventory, plan and monitor retailer orders, and retrieve expired game tickets. The role also participates in recruiting new retailers and supporting promotional events. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Director of Lottery. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The successful candidate must be available to work adjusted hours when necessary to accommodate retailer business hours.
Requirements
- A minimum of a high school diploma.
- At least five years of field sales experience, including direct responsibility for servicing established accounts, recruiting new accounts, and monitoring and evaluating sales performance.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Availability to work adjusted hours when necessary to accommodate retailer business hours.
- A valid Rhode Island, Connecticut, or Massachusetts driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds on a daily basis.
Responsibilities
- Manage a field sales route with daily sales calls and merchandising at retailer locations.
- Advise retailers on the effective use of point-of-sale materials.
- Provide game information and marketing techniques.
- Ensure retailers understand and comply with Lottery policies and procedures.
- Evaluate instant ticket inventory and related supplies at retailer locations to ensure adequate supply.
- Plan and monitor orders with retailers.
- Retrieve expired game tickets in a timely manner.
- Participate in recruiting new retailers and special promotional events.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Lottery.
