About The Position

National General is a part of The Allstate Corporation, offering a wide range of insurance products. As a Field Property Adjuster, you will be responsible for investigating and confirming the facts of loss for complex Homeowner's Claims. This includes determining coverage, damages, and negotiating claims within your authority. You will create comprehensive estimates of damages for complex first-party homeowner claims, leading to their proper disposition. This role also involves mentoring junior employees, leveraging your mastery of processes and technical expertise. We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Property Field Adjuster to join our team, preferably residing in Wyoming (near Cheyenne, Casper, Gillette, Rock Springs, or Laramie). You will investigate and manage moderate to complex residential property claims, as well as some farm and ranch claims, through on-site inspections and virtual claim handling. Strong estimating skills, proficiency with Xactimate, and the ability to manage challenging situations while delivering exceptional customer experiences are essential. Experience with agricultural, farm, and ranch claims is highly preferred. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working independently, and are passionate about helping customers during critical moments.

Requirements

  • Reside in Wyoming, preferably near Cheyenne, Casper, Gillette, Rock Springs, or Laramie
  • Strong estimating skills
  • Proficiency with Xactimate
  • Ability to effectively manage challenging situations while delivering an exceptional customer experience
  • Must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment.
  • Applicants seeking an adjuster role who also hold a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed to by the licensing team.
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Experience handling agricultural, farm, and ranch claims is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibits mastery estimating fundamentals in order to create estimates of damages on the most complex 1st party homeowner losses of all severities
  • Builds mastered relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Interprets regulatory compliance and fair claims practices
  • Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the most complex of files
  • Applies mastered content in interpretations of all policy types written by the company and assists leadership in formal and ad hoc training
  • Recommends process improvements
