About The Position

National General, a part of The Allstate Corporation, is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Field Property Adjuster to join their team. The ideal candidate will reside in Wyoming, preferably near Cheyenne, Casper, Gillette, Rock Springs, or Laramie. This role is responsible for investigating and managing moderate to complex residential property claims, as well as some farm and ranch claims, through a combination of on-site inspections and virtual claim handling. The successful candidate will possess strong estimating skills, proficiency with Xactimate, and the ability to effectively manage challenging situations while delivering an exceptional customer experience. Experience handling agricultural, farm, and ranch claims is highly preferred. This role is utilized as a peer mentor and may assign direction to more junior employees, having mastered our processes and obtained technical expertise.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Xactimate.
  • Ability to effectively manage challenging situations.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States.
  • Individuals who currently hold an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment.
  • Applicants seeking an adjuster role who also hold a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed to by the licensing team.
  • Must have a dedicated, private workspace free from distractions, along with appropriate desk and seating when working from home.
  • Reliable internet is required, with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.

  • Experience handling agricultural, farm, and ranch claims is highly preferred.

  • Designated Home State (DHS) Florida or Texas License
  • Applicable Appraiser License

Responsibilities

  • Investigating and confirming the facts of loss for the most complex Homeowner's Claims.
  • Determining coverage, damages and otherwise adjusting and negotiating claims within limit of authority.
  • Creating a comprehensive estimate of damages for the most complex first party homeowner claims leading to the proper disposition.
  • Exhibits mastery estimating fundamentals in order to create estimates of damages on the most complex 1st party homeowner losses of all severities.
  • Builds mastered relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Interprets regulatory compliance and fair claims practices.
  • Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the most complex of files.
  • Applies mastered content in interpretations of all policy types written by the company and assists leadership in formal and ad hoc training.
  • Recommends process improvements.
