About The Position

National General, a part of The Allstate Corporation, is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Property Field Adjuster to join their Western Minnesota team. The role involves investigating and managing moderate to complex residential property claims, as well as some farm and ranch claims, through on-site inspections and virtual claim handling. The successful candidate will possess strong estimating skills, proficiency with Xactimate, and the ability to effectively manage challenging situations while delivering an exceptional customer experience. Experience handling agricultural, farm, and ranch claims is highly preferred. This role is for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working independently, and are passionate about helping customers during critical moments.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Xactimate.
  • Ability to effectively manage challenging situations.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States.
  • As a requirement of employment, individuals who currently hold an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment.
  • Applicants seeking an adjuster role who also hold a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed to by the licensing team.
  • Reliable internet is required, with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.
  • Must have a dedicated, private workspace free from distractions, along with appropriate desk and seating when working from home.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience handling agricultural, farm, and ranch claims is highly preferred.
  • Applicable active licenses needed for this role, such as Home Resident Property & Casualty License, Designated Home State (DHS) Florida or Texas License, and/or applicable Appraiser License.

Responsibilities

  • Investigating and confirming the facts of loss for the most complex Homeowner's Claims.
  • Determining coverage, damages and otherwise adjusting and negotiating claims within limit of authority.
  • Creating a comprehensive estimate of damages for the most complex first party homeowner claims leading to the proper disposition.
  • Acting as a peer mentor and potentially assigning direction to more junior employees.
  • Investigating and managing moderate to complex residential property claims, as well as some farm and ranch claims.
  • Exhibiting mastery of estimating fundamentals to create estimates of damages on the most complex 1st party homeowner losses of all severities.
  • Building mastered relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Interpreting regulatory compliance and fair claims practices.
  • Negotiating settlements, making settlement payments and documenting all activities in the most complex of files.
  • Applying mastered content in interpretations of all policy types written by the company and assisting leadership in formal and ad hoc training.
  • Recommending process improvements.
