About The Position

As the Field Property Adjuster, you are responsible for investigating and confirming the facts of loss for the most complex Homeowner's Claims. You will determine coverage, damages, and otherwise adjust and negotiate claims within your limit of authority. This role is responsible for creating a comprehensive estimate of damages for the most complex first-party homeowner claims, leading to the proper disposition. This role is utilized as a peer mentor and may assign direction to more junior employees, having mastered our processes and obtained technical expertise. We are looking for a highly organized and customer-focused Property Field Adjuster to join our team. The ideal candidate will be based in Cleveland, Ohio, or live within close proximity to Akron, Ohio. In this role, you will manage moderate residential and some condo claims, conducting both in-person field inspections and virtual assessments from home. Success in this position requires strong conflict management skills, proficiency in Xactimate, and a passion for delivering excellent customer service. Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Must terminate all existing insurance license appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment.
  • Applicants seeking an adjuster role who also hold a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed to by the licensing team.

Nice To Haves

  • Applicable active licenses needed for this role. This could include Home Resident Property & Casualty License, Designated Home State (DHS) Florida or Texas License, and/or applicable Appraiser License.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibits mastery estimating fundamentals in order to create estimates of damages on the most complex 1st party homeowner losses of all severities
  • Builds mastered relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Interprets regulatory compliance and fair claims practices
  • Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the most complex of files
  • Applies mastered content in interpretations of all policy types written by the company and assists leadership in formal and ad hoc training
  • Recommends process improvements
