About The Position

Pape’ Machinery, Inc.’s Agriculture & Turf Division is seeking a Field Mechanic in Yakima, Washington. The mechanic services agricultural equipment at customer locations, diagnosing malfunctions and failures and completing repairs accurately and promptly to help customers maximize equipment uptime. The role includes traveling in a company service vehicle, performing repairs, and interacting with customers. Welding and fabrication may also be required.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment; agricultural equipment experience is preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Self-motivation and ability to work with little or no supervision.
• Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
• A driver’s license and good driving record.
• Must provide own tools.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test.

Nice To Haves

• Experience diagnosing and repairing agricultural equipment.
• Commercial driver’s license (CDL).

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations to service agricultural equipment.
• Analyze and diagnose equipment malfunctions or failures in the field.
• Repair, replace, or rebuild engines, transmissions, carburetors, final drives, steering, clutches, cross shafts, hydraulic components, electrical systems, air systems, and related components.
• Perform welding and fabrication work as needed.
• Complete repairs accurately and promptly to help ensure customer equipment is running properly and maximize uptime.
• Interact with customers while performing field service work.
