About The Position

The Field Mechanic supports the branch and its clients by maintaining and repairing industrial equipment. The position ensures rental equipment maintenance and repair needs are handled efficiently, accurately, and promptly. Work is performed primarily in the field and also in the shop. The role offers an opportunity to learn and grow within the service department and beyond.

Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude and a mechanical background, including knowledge of various motors and engines.
• Must have own tools.
• Ability to travel locally and regionally and participate in an on-call schedule.
• Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to prioritize and complete assigned projects.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Valid state driver's license with a moderately clean driving record.
• Ability to stand, sit, and kneel for extended periods in all weather conditions.
• Ability to frequently lift more than 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment, primarily in the field and also in the shop.
• Inspect and test equipment to ensure safe operation before customer delivery.
• Act as a liaison between customers and branch departments to meet and exceed customer expectations for rental equipment maintenance and repair.
• Troubleshoot rental equipment and identify efficient ways to return equipment to operation.
• Maintain professional and ethical business relationships with customers and coworkers in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Complete required service tickets and other documentation accurately, fully, and promptly.
• Coordinate with the team to order and stock needed parts, equipment, and accessories.
• Coordinate delivery and pickup of parts, equipment, and accessories with the team.
• Train clients and team members on parts, equipment, and accessories to foster good working relationships.
• Promote safety and ensure work is performed safely.
• Continue developing knowledge of company products, inventory, and delivery capabilities.
• Assist with stocking, pickup, and delivery of parts, equipment, and accessories.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Perform other tasks and duties assigned by management.
