About The Position

The Field Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing the job site logistics process within commercial and industrial settings. This includes managing deliveries to and from job sites and data entry into the tool inventory system. The role may also involve overseeing a team of up to 10 field logistics professionals and managing site logistics operations. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of Warehouse, Supply Chain, or Logistics experience.
  • Experience in construction or a related field.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to travel from 0% - 100% of the time to various locations across the U.S. in support of jobsite logistic operations.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing tools and general construction materials.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to pass a drug and background check.
  • Excellent leadership skills, including the abilities to set goals, motivate employees, with strong decision-making, problem solving and strategic planning abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening.
  • Great interpersonal skills – build trust with others and implement process improvement initiatives.
  • Read and interpret instructional manuals, worksite directions, and written instructions.
  • Analyze tool and material requests for preparation of delivery schedule.
  • Understanding of warehouse software and technology.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with inventory control practices and logistics.
  • Be an excellent judge of character and skills, in order to delegate tasks as efficiently and effectively as possible based on the strengths and weaknesses of your team.

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
  • Lift 51 pounds, routinely.
  • Constantly move about on the feet.

  • Complete full day assignments involving overhead work.
  • Must be able to make transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and to access all levels of the building, even if the only means of access is by O.S.H.A. approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction, but acceptable for use.
  • Must be capable of securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete assigned tasks.
  • Possess good vision, normal or corrected.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision to discern color coded wires, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Possess good hearing, normal or corrected.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest) at all times.
  • Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts, as needed.
  • This position requires flexible work hours.
  • In order to get a project completed on time, this position is often required to work overtime, weekends, and night shifts.
  • Must be able to work in the presence of customers and their representatives with little or no interference or disruption to the customer while maintaining a professional and courteous image.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective operations and customer service.
  • Coach and train onsite logistics teams and instill best practices regarding onsite logistics and productivity.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
  • Establish priorities for a small crew across multiple areas of operations.
  • Work as a leader within the company’s supply chain to ensure all established practices are followed.
  • Provide material handling support to assigned areas of the assigned job site.
  • Assist projects with the execution of a project-specific site logistics plan.
  • Coordinate with off-site construction, warehousing, and outside suppliers to ensure that all material and tooling requirements for a given project are met.
  • Support remobilization of crews, allowing construction operation crews to continue providing value-added install.
  • Develop systems and procedures to allow for the highest level of productivity and safest execution of tasks.
  • Understand, plan, and execute on-site requirements through meeting attendance, available drawings, and collaboration with other trades and onsite leadership.
  • Coordinate with project leadership to identify opportunities for continuous improvement through various means, including off-site construction usage, value-added services, and onsite logistics.
  • Manage logistics key performance indicators and report these to appropriate leaders.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of logistics processes and Lean techniques.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective processes, completion of projects, and smooth operation of the department.
