About The Position

The Field IT Ops Lead is a senior individual contributor responsible for the procurement of IT equipment for new sites and for leading the execution of new site IT installations across a rapidly expanding multi-site car wash operation. This role owns the technical buildout of new locations end-to-end, including structured cabling, networking, surveillance systems, and point of sale infrastructure, and works closely with field IT technicians throughout the install process, providing hands-on mentorship and technical direction, even though it does not carry formal supervisory authority. Given the heavy travel demands of the role (approximately 75%), the ideal candidate is comfortable working independently across multiple site locations and adapting to varying site conditions, including active construction and outdoor environments.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated track record running, terminating, and testing structured data cabling (Cat5e/Cat6).
  • Hands-on experience leading camera and security system installations.
  • Prior hands-on networking experience required (e.g., configuring routers, switches, wireless infrastructure, IP addressing, and PoE).
  • Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and supporting Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Ability to read and apply wiring diagrams, layouts, and technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the judgment to work independently on site.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to approximately 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working on ladders and in tight or elevated spaces.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including active construction sites.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 75% of the time, including overnight travel when required.
  • Availability to work weekends as needed to support installs, site openings, and operational needs.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

  • Lead the installation, mounting, and configuration of camera and surveillance systems at new sites.
  • Oversee server rack installation, setup, and cable management.
  • Install and configure Point of Sale (POS) systems and related hardware at new sites.
  • Wire and support technology systems specific to car wash operations and configure devices for integration with existing network infrastructure.
  • Manage critical timelines for new site IT installs, planning work around and in alignment with the overall construction schedule.
  • Maintain documentation of wiring layouts, network configurations, and site-specific technical details.
  • Serve as a mentor and technical resource to field IT technicians during the new site install process, providing guidance and on-the-job training.
  • Participate in training field IT technicians, remain available to field technical questions from techs, and take part in the interviewing process for new hire technicians.
  • Support special projects involving retrofits of existing sites, such as installation of License Plate Readers and updated payment devices.
