Vital Research is seeking independent contractors to collect confidential survey data for a statewide social research project conducted in partnership with the State of New York. The project focuses on understanding the quality of life and satisfaction of individuals receiving state-supported services, with findings intended to inform and improve service delivery. Topics include access to essential services, communication with providers and case managers, choice and quality of services, medical transportation, personal safety, and community inclusion and empowerment. Field Interviewers contact pre-identified participants, schedule and conduct surveys by video or in person according to participant preference, and accurately record responses while maintaining confidentiality. Contractors use company-provided tablets, software, and established project protocols. They manage their own schedules and are expected to complete an average of one survey per day, or at least five completed surveys per week, within project expectations and deadlines. The contract runs from January 12, 2027, through May 30, 2027, or until all interviews are completed. Required training takes place before participant interviews begin. Compensation is per completed survey: $90 for a video interview and $100 or more for an in-person interview, depending on travel distance. Separate payments are available for completing pre-training modules, mandatory virtual training, and eligible post-training assessments.
