About The Position

Seek Now is seeking reliable, skilled, and experienced 1099 independent contractors to perform accurate, impartial, and complete home and commercial property inspections. Field Inspectors are experienced claim handlers who can access and inspect steep, high roofs and support Outside and Inside Insurance Adjusters with excellent customer service. Positions are available in major U.S. markets. The role involves frequent local travel and travel to catastrophe-affected areas, with assignments sometimes lasting two to six weeks. Contractors provide their availability and work fully remotely, with inspections conducted mostly outdoors and occasionally indoors.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Ability to climb and walk on any type of roof.
Ability to use a laptop and smartphone, navigate applications, enter data, and use Microsoft Office products.
Ability to earn HAAG Certification within the first year if not already certified.
Ability to submit complete, high-quality reports on time.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Customer service skills.
Organization and prioritization skills.
Ability to work independently, learn quickly, and accept assignments on short notice.
Ability to travel daily within a 100-mile radius and drive an average of two to five hours per day.
Ability to travel to catastrophe-affected areas for assignments averaging two to six weeks.
Clean, reliable truck, van, or SUV; 32-foot ladder; operational laptop and smartphone; and roofing boots.
Valid driver's license.
State-issued workers' compensation and certificate of general liability insurance.
LLC Articles or Certificate of Organization.
Professional appearance.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing or walking for long periods; driving up to five hours a day; kneeling, squatting, bending, climbing, crawling, stooping, reaching, and working overhead; working outdoors in hot and cold weather; lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 100 pounds; and continual manual dexterity in both hands.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of two years of experience in construction, service, or sales.
Previous experience as a roofer.
HAAG Certification.
Experience with property and liability insurance coverage and standards.
Insurance adjuster experience.
Roofing sales or building experience.

Responsibilities

Climb two-story and taller buildings and steep roofs.
Carry, set up, and safely climb a 32-foot extension ladder multiple times a day, several days a week.
Lift, carry, and set up ladders and other equipment weighing up to 100 pounds.
Sketch and measure roof and room components, and calculate the areas of roofs, rooms, and other inspection areas.
Perform accurate, impartial, and complete roof inspections, including identifying roof age, leaks, deterioration, hail damage, wind damage, and previous repairs.
Perform high-quality home and commercial property inspections.
Enter required photos, measurements, and documentation through proprietary software on a smartphone and laptop, following reporting guidelines.
Travel daily within a 100-mile radius to scheduled inspections, averaging two to five hours of driving per day.
Travel farther when needed to inspect properties in areas affected by weather catastrophes, including assignments averaging two to six weeks.
Maintain professional and safety standards required by insurance carriers.
Partner with the internal Seek Now team to complete daily tasks.
Escalate customer or client issues when appropriate.
Perform other duties as assigned.
