About The Position

Design Mechanical, Inc. is seeking a Field Foreman for their Plumbing department. This full-time, non-exempt position reports to the Labor Manager and is based in Louisville, CO, with projects throughout the Denver metro area. The Plumbing Foreman is responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and profitability of commercial mechanical plumbing system installations, assemblies, and repairs. This role involves close collaboration with the Project Team to ensure projects are completed according to documentation, within budget, and on schedule. The Foreman will utilize their trade knowledge and management skills to coordinate internal teams and external clients, and may also perform hands-on work. Requirements

  • Minimum Journeyman license in respective trade (Plumbing: Journeyworker Plumber License)
  • 3-5+ years of experience running commercial mechanical projects ranging from $1-10M in value
  • Computer skills required, with a good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications
  • Effective interpersonal skills are required for a strong representation of DMI customers as well as employees
  • Valid CO Driver’s License and Clear MVR
  • Can successfully pass a criminal background check, drug test, and physical ensuring you can perform the duties of the job

Responsibilities

  • Work with the project team to ensure familiarity with contract inclusions, scope of work, proposal, and accepted value engineering options.
  • Ensure familiarity with plans, specifications, contract schedule, and budget.
  • Ensure the team uses the most current set of contract documents, including all mechanical/plumbing details.
  • Be aware of budgeted hours and work with the project manager and team to identify and implement cost-saving strategies.
  • Work with the project manager for change order pricing, ensuring all costs are captured.
  • Utilize prefabrication.
  • Understand crew costs.
  • Be aware of schedule changes and make necessary adjustments to manpower and material needs.
  • Work directly with the project manager to develop and maintain a 3-week manpower look ahead and update weekly.
  • Ensure Design Mechanical's core values and company safety policies and procedures are always implemented and followed.
  • Ensure systems are installed to the highest degree of quality and functionality.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with clients, vendors, and colleagues.
  • Provide solutions when called upon.
  • Deliver a quality product on time and within budget.
  • Communicate expectations and expect accountability; address issues with individuals when expectations are not met.
  • Ensure crews are properly laid out, organized, and productive.
  • Attend all appropriate meetings, including pre-plan and weekly subcontractor coordination meetings.
  • Work with project managers to pre-plan projects and understand specific equipment & materials being used.
  • Take an active role in the BIM/CAD process, working closely with the CAD department to ensure correct products are used and a buildable model is produced.
  • Create a prefabrication plan with the prefab coordinator and the fab shop.
  • Create and maintain a batching schedule with the CAD department and the fab shop.
  • Ensure the most current information from BIM coordination is used and always reference contract drawings.
  • Implement and maintain a QA/QC plan.
  • Ensure all systems are installed per plans, specifications, and current and local codes.
  • Ensure all systems requiring testing are tested and documented.
  • Ensure all systems are installed to the highest quality and functionality standards.
  • Ensure the project is properly documented with daily reports, pressure testing reports, crew time entry, disciplinary actions, etc.
  • Maintain accurate as-built drawings throughout the project.
  • Request appropriate inspections and document appropriately.
