About The Position

We’re seeking an experienced Plumbing Foreman to lead and coordinate plumbing work on active construction projects while ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and schedule expectations are met. In this role, you’ll provide day-to-day field leadership to plumbing crews, interpret plans and specifications, coordinate with other trades, monitor project progress, and ensure installations comply with applicable plumbing codes and project requirements. The ideal candidate combines strong plumbing expertise with hands-on leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to keep crews aligned and work progressing efficiently.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, piping, fixtures, equipment, and installation methods.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret plumbing drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Thorough understanding of applicable plumbing codes, regulations, and industry safety standards.
  • Ability to effectively lead, organize, and motivate plumbing crews.
  • Provide clear direction while holding team members accountable for safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Develop crew capabilities through hands-on coaching and technical guidance.
  • Anticipate project needs, field constraints, and potential installation challenges.
  • Effectively troubleshoot plumbing and construction-related issues.
  • Prioritize work and adjust manpower and resources to support project schedules.
  • Maintain high standards for workmanship, accuracy, and code compliance.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to jobsite safety and hazard prevention.
  • Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and company standards.
  • Communicate effectively with crews, project leadership, subcontractors, and other trades.
  • Provide clear updates regarding progress, manpower, materials, and field conditions.
  • Build productive working relationships that support successful project execution.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a Plumbing Foreman, Lead Plumber, or similar field leadership role in commercial construction.
  • Journeyman Plumber license or equivalent plumbing certification, as applicable to the jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, direct, and coordinate the daily activities of plumbers and plumbing crews.
  • Assign work based on project priorities, schedules, and workforce capabilities.
  • Provide field guidance, coaching, and technical support to crew members.
  • Monitor crew performance, productivity, workmanship, and adherence to expectations.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping, fixtures, equipment, and plumbing systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, plumbing drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards, project specifications, and installation requirements are met.
  • Troubleshoot complex plumbing issues and provide direction on appropriate solutions.
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices and jobsite safety requirements.
  • Ensure plumbing work complies with applicable local, state, and national plumbing codes and regulations.
  • Identify potential hazards and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Ensure crews properly use tools, equipment, personal protective equipment, and established safety procedures.
  • Coordinate plumbing activities with project leadership, subcontractors, and other trades.
  • Monitor daily progress against project schedules and communicate potential delays or constraints.
  • Coordinate material, equipment, and manpower needs to support efficient field operations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work completed, materials used, field conditions, and project progress.
