This position is responsible for maintaining and building customer relationships by ensuring customer requests are met in a timely fashion. The Field Engineering Designer I designs layouts for service additions and changes to the Company electric system using Company approved standards and policies. They perform technical calculations and prepare work orders as assigned. This role communicates internally and externally the Company requirements for electric service installation. The designer is responsible for designing, negotiating, and coordinating the installation of residential, commercial, and industrial services, including the preparation of cost estimates, work orders, and written service agreements. They work with others to prepare work orders for larger commercial and industrial service installations. The position also involves preparing easement documents and private property permits, designing, negotiating, and coordinating the relocation of overhead and underground facilities, and recommending designs and coordinating installation of residential streetlights. Additionally, the role includes preparing work orders for security lighting and unmetered services, preparing residential or commercial contracts, and performing analysis/assistance in emergency restoration efforts. The role is expected to work beyond regular business hours as required.
