About The Position
The Field Engineer will be responsible for installing and maintaining EPOS hardware and kiosks, performing 1st and 2nd fix data cabling, and troubleshooting basic software issues on-site. This role involves working in customer-facing environments, construction sites, and potentially in challenging conditions such as working from heights or confined spaces. The company is a long-established IT Service Provider specializing in the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) industry, recently merged with a global tech company.
Requirements
- EPOS hardware and kiosks experience.
- Data Cabling experience (Cat5, Cat6, Fiber Cabling, Patch Paneling, Switches, Comms, Units and Routers).
- Basic software troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to operate power tools (grinders, impact drivers, SDS drills).
- Willingness to travel, work away from home, and undertake overnight shifts.
- Quick thinking and adaptability.
- Eligible to live and work in the UK.
Nice To Haves
- Background in retail or QSR.
- CSCS/ECS cardholder.
Responsibilities
- Installing and maintaining EPOS hardware and kiosks (touch-screen terminals, card readers, receipt printers, barcode scanners).
- Performing 1st and 2nd fix data cabling.
- Troubleshooting and resolving basic software issues on-site.
- Operating power tools such as grinders, impact drivers, and SDS drills.
- Working on customer-facing sites, construction sites, working from heights, and working from confined spaces.
